Needs-based Scholarships

The Austin Jazz Society is a nonprofit organization that provides needs-based scholarships to qualifying applicants selected to be members of the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra. While it is our goal to not restrict any student from participating because of financial resources, our funds are not limitless. Applications are taken on a first come, first served basis.

Submit a Scholarship Application

The Austin Jazz Society awards tuition scholarships to middle and high school students whose families are experiencing financial difficulties and/or other hardships. Candidates must have a desire to learn and practice, demonstrate their abilities through an audition process (for placement), and have the support of their families/guardians as they honor the commitments and follow the prescribed guidelines.

Scholarship awards vary in amounts depending on the degree of financial need and completeness of supporting documentation. Not all costs may be covered, but some amount of assistance will be provided if all requirements are met in the application.

The success of this program will require participation and support from students, parents, educators, donors and sponsors. We invite everyone to play a part in the success of the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution and/or becoming a sponsor.
